Back in Action!
Well what can I say about the last three months besides OUCH!
Two shoulder operations and four less wisdom teeth later I am back in action and ready to roll into a new season. After the biggest six months of my life being that of winning a World Championship, riding my first Grand Tour and racing on the big stage around the world it came to a big stop with yet another dislocation of my left shoulder. This made it number seven and it was time now to get it fixed. After much time spent in the UK under the knife and then three weeks in a sling, I thought it would be a good idea for me to dislocate my right shoulder for the second time also. Why not. Nothing better then having your left shoulder in a sling while your right one is out of its socket. Mum help I cant move. Another flight to the UK to see the shoulder doctor and another three weeks in the right sling. With now four months of rehab and not being able to race until November at the earliest I returned to Australia to begin my rehab and look to next season.
I can say now after also having my four wisdom teeth removed and my shoulders almost back to normal, I am back into full training with the next goal of competing in the Perth International Grand Prix (7th November and a special moment as it will be my first time racing in the rainbow jersey) and then the World Cup in Melbourne later on in November. After that December will be spent preparing for the Road National Championships and the Tour Down Under which will take place in January.
Ciao
